Altesino winery is lcated in the hills to the north of The town of Montalcino. It takes its name from the 15th century home, Palzzo Alteseni. While the hous is historic the winery is as well. They were the first in Montalcino to bottle designate the best areas with the release of the 1975 Brunello di Montalcino Morisoli.  Brunello is the local name for the Sangiovese Grosso grape variety. Blue and red berries are balanced by some chocolate , vanilla, and cedar. This wine screams for Bistecca alla Fiorentina.
