To say Domaine Albert Mann makes greta wine is a gross understatement. The small Estate, only around 20 Ha in total, is run by two brothers. The Domaine owns land in 5 of the Grand Cru sites. This wine comes from the Hengst Grand Cru. It is not allowed to carry the Grand Cru designation because Pinot Noir is not one of the allowed varieties for that vineyard. It will be allowed for the 2021 vintage. The wine is hard to desribe. It has the cherry and red berry fruit that one expects from Pinot Noir. It also carries that touch of mushroom  umami that makes Pinot fans go crazy. There are some herbal notes as well. The balance and harmony is what makes it so special. It is consistently one of the best Pinot Noirs that you can actually find and arguably the best one in our shop.
